After looking at the Terry Isis Sport a hundred times, considering the input I got on the Team Estrogen forum, and the offer from Terry to have the bike sent, fitted and test-driven with an option to return if I don’t like it, I ordered one tonight. $2,400.00. It seems like a reasonable price for the features - Waterford steel, Shimano Ultegra components, 18 pounds, a nice range of gears on 3 chain rings. It’s back-ordered until May 28, so it will be awhile before I get my hands on it, anyway. Maybe by then I’ll have changed my mind! But - I’d like to test-drive this bike, which is built especially for women… I just have a hunch about it.
Update: A disappointment - the bike does not have room for fenders! I am regrouping now, but have kept the bike on order. They’re not due until June 6, says Terry, so it gives me time… I’ve got the Seven catalog out again! *sigh* The good news is that I’m learning a lot as I go along in this process… Measured my inseam and bicycle today for the Terry order, and talked with one of their sales reps.
Update 6-10-08: Cancelled the Terry bike order with much sadness. After the rainiest spring in Northwest history (it must be), I have realized I just can’t get along without fenders. I also made a trip to Classic Cycle - the “other” bike shop on Bainbridge - and the owner, Jeff, brought up all kinds of other options, until my head was spinning. Now I really don’t know what I’m doing. Everything’s on hold.

Crazy woman! It’s beautiful!
