End of the road

Josie and I were struck with a sudden and violent stomach/digestive illness in Arcata just as Will and I were preparing to head south on the bikes. Unable to eat, terribly sick, flat on our backs for 24 hours… It zapped every ounce of strength I had left, and we couldn’t leave Josie sick and [...]

We were early to Harris Beach State Park hiker-biker site yesterday and it was late when cyclists started coming in. To our delight, we greeted two Canadians we’d met at Honeyman SP a few nights ago. Jay and Darryl had done a mere 78 miles or so and actually cooked a wonderful pasta dinner at [...]

Coastal heads

Have passed over several Pacific coastal heads– great promontories with rivers on each side, emptying into the Ocean. This one, I believe, was Heceta Head.
