Mother of two adult children, resident of Bainbridge Island, Washington – and, until June 4, 2007, a confirmed non-cyclist. On that day, a friend left a road bike on my front porch and said - “borrow this for awhile.” I’d never been on a light-weight road bike, so I decided to give it a try – I bought a pair of shoes, dusted up the driveway a few times learning to clip out, and voila! – life hasn’t been the same. On July 26, 2007, I became the happy owner of the little red bike.
After separating from my husband, I took “LRB” with me on a road trip to Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, etc., and fell in love with exploring new places on a bike. I’ve continued to cycle through one of the most tumultuous times in my life, navigating a separation, divorce, my kids’ college years, and ultimately, a new relationship. Bicycling has healed my soul and set my spirit free.
LRB’s original owner, Maxine Miller, dubbed it “The Little Red Bicycle That Could,” and I’m deeply grateful for her love of cycling, and her generosity (indeed, tenacity) in sharing it with me.
Nice blog! What a pleasure to read literate posts. Keep riding–and keep posting.
Hello,
I recently had a friend direct me to the Team Estrogen forum where you had posted a comment about Seven Cycles. I am a Seven Cycles retailer in Seattle and I have to say, I am VERY excited about Seven Cycles.
Not only did I work for Seven from 2000-2005, I primarly sell Seven as the main brand at my shop.
I apologize in advance if my unsolicited email is bothersome. If you would ever like to talk about a Seven Vancanza with someone who is psyched about Seven, let me know.
Zac
