According to the League of American Bicyclists, the state of Washington is #1 on its list of Bicycle Friendly States – outranking Oregon by four spots.   The league says it scored all 50 states using more than 70 factors in its ratings.

Mileage update

Just for the record…  Since my 5,000 mile mark in June, I’ve put 857 miles on my odometer.   Although my weekly mileage pace has dropped off this summer, it looks like I’ll be turning over 6,000 this fall sometime.  Whee!

Crash!

If I wanted to get out of the car and onto the bike more often, my opportunities just increased.  Yesterday afternoon, about a half-mile from home, I rear-ended someone going about 25 miles an hour.
